Discover Cape Drastis, Just Steps from Cape Resort
Tucked away on the northwest coast of Corfu, Cape Drastis is one of the island’s most breathtaking and unspoiled natural wonders. Known for its dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and crystal-clear waters, it’s a must-see destination for any traveler seeking tranquility, beauty, and authentic Corfiot charm.
And the best part? It’s just a short walk from Cape Resort, making it the perfect extension of your stay with us.
🏞️ Geography & Geological Significance
Cape Drastis is part of the Diapontia archipelago coastline and is famous for its striking white limestone formations that have been shaped by thousands of years of wind and sea erosion. The cape juts dramatically into the Ionian Sea, creating narrow fingers of land that form secluded coves and tiny private beaches — accessible only by foot or boat.
The cliffs are layered with soft sedimentary rock, giving them their unique texture and allowing plants to grow along the edges, adding a pop of green to the stark white landscape. It's a protected natural area, so development is minimal and its beauty remains largely untouched.
📜 A Bit of History
While Cape Drastis is best known today for its natural beauty, the area also holds historical and cultural significance. It has long been a point of reference for fishermen and sailors navigating Corfu’s northern coast and was once used as a natural lookout point during times of coastal unrest.
Local folklore often speaks of hidden caves and lovers’ hideaways among the cliffs — stories passed down through generations of villagers in Peroulades and the surrounding area.
🗺️ How to Get There from Cape Resort
From Cape Resort, getting to Cape Drastis is incredibly easy — one of the many reasons we chose this location for our property.
On foot:Take a leisurely 30-minute walk through the village of Peroulades. The path leads past olive groves and traditional stone houses before reaching the viewing point above the cliffs. The final stretch is unpaved, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
By car or scooter:A narrow road leads to a small parking area near the top of the cliffs. From there, a short walk brings you to the edge of Cape Drastis. The road is not accessible all the way down to the water — access to the coves is best by boat.
